Celebrating The Summer Solstice: Rust and Thistle Floral's Backyard Dinner Party

As the sun lingers longer in the sky and the air fills with the sweet scent of blooming flowers, it's time to embrace the magic of summer. We've all been waiting too long for it!

We couldn't think of a better way to welcome our favorite season than with a Summer Solstice dinner party with our best friends and kiddos. As a wedding florist in Boise, ID it's hard to carve out time for ourselves during the busy season that is summer but we made it happen! Us friends, all in the wedding industry in Boise, ID held an intimate gathering in my backyard this week adorned with our florals, a tablescape designed by Shea of Seamdesignevents , paper-goods by Joni Small Hands and beautiful photography by Maggie Grace Photo.

The backdrop for dinner was my humble backyard that we transformed by hanging florals and ribbons to two large Chestnut tree's and setting a table and seating among the animals and flowers that fill my yard.

The table, dressed with ruffled linens and adorned with country french touches like checked cushions, table lamps, and pops of soft yellows worked so perfectly with our purple and yellow florals.

Fresh dishes and appetizers complemented the laughter and chatter of moms and all the kiddos. The menu, curated to showcase local flavors and ingredients, highlighted the bounty of summer produce and culinary creativity.

Maggie Grace Photography, captured the sweetmess of the evening in every frame. Her eye was perfect for capturing the essence of a Summer Solstice celebration: children chasing bugs, mothers sharing stories under a canopy of trees, and friends toasting to the magic of summer nights.
